Equipment im thinking about getting...

Post by Optimystic »

So, have had a few ideas lately of things to get to add to our prep

Blackout material to cover up all doors and windows to block out any light that might give us away

Flashbangs and smoke bombs to use in the event that anyone tried to attack

Everyday tools that can be used as weapons

Alcohol to use as medicinal cleansing, bartering, Drinking!

Fuel in Jerricans

Any thoughts?

I'd be careful about mentioning buying, storing or using any item as a method of defense.

Also storage of fuel is limited.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Ah ok..

In what way is fuel limited? Id only be able to store a small amount.. maybe 20/40L at most, as would prefer to store outdoors and space is limited there

yes, was watching Doomsday preppers on TV and saw several good ideas for burning, esp liked the cotton balls and petroleum jelly as a fire starter

hello pseudonym, unfortunately your probably right about mentioning defending yourself from any one who wants to do you harm. however, it really makes my blood boil!!! the trouble is, this sort of post is exactly what is wrong with our society, that we cant be vocal about defending ourselves from those who mean us harm ! why ever not ? will potential home invaders ,murders and rapists be offended that someone has decided that they wont be a victim ???? please give them the compensation they rightly deserve from my hard earned taxes now.

It's in your own best interests to not talk about it on a public forum, as it *will* be used against you if you ever used whatever it is you're discussing against a person, as it will be seen as pre-meditated.

For me personally ive no intention of harming anyone unless they attacked me first and then i guess id just grab whatever i had to hand. However, in a lawless society then id wanna be prepared to have lots of things around me that would firstly, put ppl off from even attempting to attack us.. or secondly being equiped to deal with them should they not heed the warnings..
My questions about weapons/defense would only ever be for a SHTF situation.. otherwise im happy to let the police deal with wrong doers!..
I agree it is a shame that being prepared for an attack would mean we would be considered to be pre meditated.. isnt that what having a police/armed force is all about? being pre meditated to deal with any conflict the country could be forced to deal with?..
But i do heed the warnings of my fellow preppers and will try and word my questions a bit differently.

Cheers!
