wholesale

Post by jameswhite »

Just a thought since my last post, i dont know what people do for a living but i am able to get most prepping items wholesale through one of my companies as we are "in the business" it makes me wonder if each area should investigate wether there is someone in the area that can buy wholesale in bulk and share the cost and items with others locally, just a thought.

I think that's a great idea, or a group buy.

I use bookers all the time (no particular preference for bookers its just closest to where i work, others are available).
I buy bulk cans, crisps, some alcohol, bulk cans, dried goods etc.
Having used it for a while I find that supermarket alcohol deals are cheaper than wholesqlers ( often loss leaders) and a lot of supermarket offers can be better also. Just need to buy cleverly and know the market.

deffinately right re supermarkets i find asda really good especially if you use their own brand stuff like beans. I was thinking more for equipment like water filters, med supplies or the like.

I agree that usually supermarket prices are better than wholesalers.
People think that macro is cheap but I find it not so cheap or the same price as supermarket.

I find B&M Bargains shop very cheap and fine quality.

Big tin of fish in toamto sauce about 80p "pilchards" - has date till 2015. Whenever I am there i clean up the shelve :)
They are nice when spiced up and well mixed.
Cheap resealable bags and strong black bags (heavy duty) 30bags for about 90p
cheap vitamins with long date, toiletres, many other things.
Gardening tools - medium/fairly good quality + fertilizers etc

Joined and had a walk around Bookers today. Most things are cheaper in supermarkets. It looks like the only things cheaper are catering size packs of herbs etc, whilst bulk rice and flour and some tinned stuff will only save a few pennies.

Have been looking for the cheapest and that's why we joined Booker's which proved not to cheap at all.

The supermarket comparisons sites are rubbish as they do not include Morrisons, Lidl or Aldi.

Went to Lidl yesterday and they are cheaper than the big 4 supermarkets by around 10-12%.
