vacuum sealing/mylar

sorry if i have posted this in the wrong section in advance, right my question is do mylar bags need to be vacuum sealed or will forcing out as much air as possible and using oxygen absobers be enough, only asking as i have a small vacuum sealer but i want to get some large mylar bags , i've read you can seal them with a household iron but was'nt sure how well they would work without being vacuum sealed

Yes, force air out and use oxy absorbers and yes, seal them with an iron. I prefer to use smaller mylar bags as once you've opened it you need to use up the contents.

thats ok then, do you know of any uk suppliers, seems like most are from the usa and the few i have seen in the uk are pretty pricey

I use the ones from the LDS, they are far cheaper than any i could find in the uk (£58 for 250 delivered) and work great.
