I've always been intrigued by spreadbetting - I did try it, a few years ago, and failed miserably!

I need some tips...

I sell excess veg from my garden and small polytunnel. I live on a busy road (opposite the co op) so I have a good passing trade. I put bags of Tomatoes/runner beans/chillies/ fruit etc. and price it in 50p increments, so they always have the right change, and leave a sign to pop it through the letterbox. People are quite honest.
I made £120 this season which covers my seed and leaves a 90 quid profit. Next year I am using a lot of saved seed. Ok its not a lot but it is not bad as it is a hobby too. I am adding eggs to the list now as I cannot eat so many 'cos of my bloodpressure and cholesterol levels at the moment. So the fowls will more than pay for themselves. Also I am buying sacks of spuds from the farm for £8 , splitting them into 2.5 kg bags and just undercutting the co op( and saying so!) double me money on that! And the customers think I grow 'em myself!
Come the new season I grow plants and flowers too. That IS profitable. Worth a couple of hundred quid- and I have regulars.
Just my two pennyworth.

I am doing some writing. I was approached by a chap who wants me to write some books for him so I have done the first one and that is already out there and another one will be on its way as soon as I can get enough caffeine, nicotine and nutrients in my system to finish it.

There are lots of ways that you can do it, including lulu.com

If you are naturally a skilled blogger, a few pennies can come your way via triond.com if you already have an online following and you are skilled at getting the eye with a headline. Also youtube partner program can help a lot.

I work selling my live advice mainly on love and relationships via live advice / entertainment sites to the most part. Anything else is a bonus that makes life easier.

Don't we all need the tips! I failed miserably at the fundamentals sort of work, so now I'm going technical ...

The other thing I *might* do, is sell plug plants on ebay. A friend of mine started to do it with squash seeds that she retrieved from the compost bin, put there by accident the previous day, and even though one person complained about the packaging and she had to refund the money, she made about £50.

Thinking of using lupin seeds that I got from a holiday cottage this year, plus aquilegia seeds from my own garden, and yep, I'll buy some squash to eat and keep the seeds!

That's the kind of twisted, deviant salesmanship tactics that I would employ myself. Absolute genius!

Ah yes, the technicalities get very detailed, don't they

Love it! I was having a walk today and came across someone selling eggs from their front door - but plastered over their sign was the sticker "sold out"!!!

I never used green metropolis - stuck to amazon for anything with an isbn number, and ebay on the free listings weekends for anything else. Trouble is, huge American firms use cheap books as loss leaders or something, I'm *still* not sure how they make a profit, but after the first few catastrophes, I always make sure I sell books in conjunction with checking the Royal Mail site, so I know how much it'll cost me to post them - its astonishingly high sometimes.
