Seeing comment here about beach-sand, can I remind everyone that it is illegal to remove sand from the beach? The foreshore belongs to the Crown and removal of items from it is considered trespassing and theft.

Wow I never knew that, learn something new everyday. And to think I was considering using beach sand in my free standing punch bag

I'd recommend using one for water. Water is a survival priority.

Was thinking that but I have large 5L bottles of water but as you say, water is the main priority really. I remember last year all the pipes froze so the water in the shed came in handy for washing / cooking lol

If it were my decision, I'd go with 2 X Fuel & 1 X Water for now, as you already have water on hand, and last winter meant you had to go to your preps. If you feel the need to store extra fuel at some point down the line, and cash allows, then get another jerrycan for that purpose. The water out of the River Mersey ain't exactly Perrier.

Yet the Commoner is allowed to harvest food , fish and fowl with no hindrance nor cost? Interesting that.

technically, you can't take seaweed either but fish is usually found beyond the foreshore so does not belong to the Crown.

About 1/2 hour drive away. I would have better luck on the moors which are only 1/4 mile away.
