But by blocking the drain wont the back up simply over flow next door ? Allowing bacterial growth and infetion to spread in your area ?unsure wrote:i haven`t jumped in on this one , but i will now .
a none return valve could well be the differance between having your house filled with some else`s sewage or not , you block the drain from your house in the man hole , then use other means to dispose of yours , may be a hole in the ground or a compost loo . thats the individuals choice .

Ive worked it out now ( it has been a bit hectic to say the least and what with jumping about collecting links and all ) The origional link with a picture shows the valve fitted into the main discharge pipe that runs everyones waste away , Your saying to fit it just onto your outlet , in effect stopping any back flow into your property only .It was the picture that confused me as couldnt work out the benefit of blockin the main sewer pipe ....unsure wrote:in a shtf situation me and mine come first and foremost , i`d help others as and when i could , but mine are my first priority , as for any kind of bact growth this i think would only happen for a short while .

Nuclear contamination is the least of my worries, unemployment, poor crops this year and rising food prices, bad winter is why I prep harder and I'm sure many other people do too.
