I`d have to say its more for space issue's than anything else pluss with three kids they would have a feild day in the cupboard :?

LOL I know you dont mind me asking, some of the female cats on here like to show their brittle claws. MEOW.

Well..... so it’s not as if your hiding this store on purpose it’s simply a hidden entrance. I wanted to clarify that. I have "hidden stores" hidden very much on purpose and what goes in dictates stuff like accessibility, does it need to be accessible daily, weekly or only when required. This then dictates the level of concealment you give to the entrance.

I would personally use this space for long to midterm storage. Stuff like fuels, grains and "special" tools....

There is not much in the way of damp visible but as it is a cold space you would find things like Gas Canisters would gather condensation and rust.

I’d be tempted to build a frame in there using 2x2 rough timber and fill it with 50mm kingspan rigid foam boards. I’d leave a vent somewhere up high so there’s some movement of air and then id fill any screw heads and board joins with cheap filler pretty much sealing the roam apart from the vent up high and a vent at skirting level.

You can never tell if a void or room is going to react well or badly to a change like that you might get mould in there but I doubt it.

With this frame method you lose 4/5 inches from the room size, can you afford to do this?

If not id just try and level the floor and put some loft boards down and leave the walls bare and like people have suggested pack everything into sealed plastic but remember metal will rust in there.

The floor feals pretty solid i presume its just covered in a thin layer of dirt and rubble i could line the walls but getting lengths of 2x2 down there will be a pain and the kingspan boards would need to be cut up into smaller sections

the last read of the thermo read at lowest 10c however humidity was close to 80% so like it has been said bare metal would take a hard hit over time if not stored correctly

access is fairly easy i can get in the room in less than a minute i did think about using it as a non food store, fuel for storm lamps ect ect things that i can more or less store and only attend to when needed or to replenish stocks

im going to over the course of this week make a move to lower humidity in there

Clarification? Sure. I have no objection to its usage per se, although you have just demonstrated to me, and to anyone else who read your post, your general level of intelligence by using the words of a cartoon character to try and offend someone.
