Hi and welcome to the forum.

This is a good place to start. Remember the Americans are more extreme than us and have more guns!

Think about what you are prepping for, then make a list with what you might need to do or get.

Water and food. There are plenty of info on here just do a search.

Any questions just ask.

Hi Mike,

I am also new to the forum but have a number of skill learnt while in the Army. I am not prepping for the end of the world just the normal "buy all the fuel and see the results type situation" think we all suffered on that one. over the years i my little family has grown and did not want to be in the position of un prepped like the last time. During the bad weather we had the local supper markets run out of the basics so now i follow the three three rules.

The minutes without AIR
Three days without Water
Three weeks without Food

Admitted i know keep water and extra food, i do store food but i eat my store and replace. i basically now keep a stock of Tinned food dip in and replace allowing me to keep a cycle Best before dates. i have limited room so i only hold 50 Ltrs of water and other than that keep BOB's for my self and the wife. ofc i keep items to allow us not to get caught out when in the cars due to bad weather. Not realty walking dead mode more of the "been in the situation before and learnt the hard way ;)" hope some of this was of some help and as far as i have seen on the forum its got some good information.

I will say it does make you feel better knowing you have got the basics covered of in relation to looking after then family.
