Fair point and you can always find a branch to beat the damn thing with like Basil Fawlty can't you. ;)

I have included bolt cutters in my BO tool bag although the weight would probably mean leaving them if I had to travel by foot.

ive got a small pair of bolt cutters in my bag very light weight also added a crowbar again small can also double up as a weapon if needed...and to top it off you could ( but very slowly ) dig a hole with it..well loosen the ground :? and ive also got a couple of multi tools a nice bear grylls machete and a small light weight axe all the tools i need/want
