How prepared are you? Prepper survey.

Post by icrcc »

There is a new interactive poll on the Nat Geo Website :
http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/c ... -are-you1/
Now I realize that many people will say that it is not "relevant" for their situation however it is still a very useful tool. It sure points out areas of weakness in your plan. I look forward to your comments.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.

2-4 weeks! Not that I expected much more, I could barely get the sliders to go low enough  My security was awful and whilst I won't be loading up on fire arms I could definitely do with brushing up on self defence and a face mask.

Mine came out at 2-4months. Security was a very poor score. Need to increase my food stores  and methods of preserving.

The questions are helpful to plan your own supplies.

(And stop posting things like this - I'm supposed to be planning for school!!!!! and I'm too easily distracted... )

I was 2 - 4 weeks as well - security a low point. Must get to grips with phoning the local shooting club ...

I know this can be an eye opener. However bear in mind that this is based on US society. There are five categories, water, food, shelter, security and X factor. Not a bad poll really. Even for those who are concentrating on food and water it is a good exercise to take that part of the poll. In the UK because of the prevailing laws you could likely never score too high on security. So if you have any kind of a plan for security that is applicable to your situation revaluate your score out 80 instead of 100 and it should be closer to your preparedness.

ok I did well except for personal safety scored 0 and they wanted me to have a gun I don't have a gun :?: do have other preps for this and I know that I need to sort out my distance saftey which hopefully will be sorted this year.
Thanks for that advice icrcc but my problem is that they didn't even ask about other security measures thay you might be in place just guns

1-2 weeks, water being the main issue, I think I need a water butt in the yard, no room inside for more.
Like has been said it's different here, their water estimates also account for rehydrating food and heating it, we have many folks relying on canned food, not least because storing water for dehydrated foods and grains and fuel isn't practical and is dangerous/not legal in many homes in the UK.
I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

1-2 months it says for me. I think I would last longer than that personally.
