Re: Ham Radio Advice needed
I have said the same, I think a lot of hams make a meal of it to make themselves seem smart or important. Even so, even modern radios are nowhere near as user friendly as a win 98 pc. I remember when I first qualified, I really was clueless, and I pride myself on being a technical person.

Re: Ham Radio Advice needed
If peoples maths is really poor, I'd say if the internet goes down most ham's I know would be screwed if they needed to make an antenna as they use online calculators that run the formulas and spits out all the measurements for them. If anyone wants to get involved with antenna design it might be worth swatting up on your math skills, or make sure you learn how to use a tuner.Zai wrote:I have said the same, I think a lot of hams make a meal of it to make themselves seem smart or important.
