Up until a couple of years ago, I was one hell of a TEA addict - 10-15 mugs a day w/o blinking. I then lost my job and for some reason, stopped drinking the stuff. Now I am a water addict - 2-3 litres a day. I will do you a favour and drink a cup of tea but that is it. Even my GP went at it when I told her.

Re: One week without addiction
Ok first morning without the Stuff and I don't fell myself to comfortably to be honest.
Re: One week without addiction
Mr Pickles - good luck to you. My advice is to cut down slowly rather than go 'cold turkey'. You'll certainly get withdrawal, which'll cause pretty severe headaches (I've done it myself in the past).
I generally have (on a working day) tea with breakfast, a strong coffee on the way into work, then maybe another tea and coffee later in the day.
I'm trying to cut down alcohol at the moment. That's proving difficult.

I have cut back somewhat, substituted a couple of coffee drinks each day with a fruit tea with honey in it. I still love my "fully leaded" coffe tho'. I would in big doo doos if I couldn't have chocolate and coffee *runs round screamming like they do on that silly trainline advert* I do find I have withdrawal symptoms when I try to leave choc alone for any length of time - I get all edgy and restless untill I have crammed a small coc bar down my throat

Re: One week without addiction
Diet coke is my drug of choice, and I can't seem to kick the habit. I survive mostly on an average of 5 hours sleep, so I need something to keep me going! I will attempt to give up once my toddler starts sleeping better, as it's once less item to start storing!

Good luck!MrPickles wrote:From next week I don't drink tea or coffee for 7 day. Just to see how I can coop. Tow years ago I already quitted from smoking saving a shed load of money.
If you wish you can join to me and see how you can coop.
I gave up drinking coffee about a year ago, had massive migranes for about 2 weeks. Not touched a drop since.
IMHO in a SHTF situation i'd rather be surviving rather than nursing a headache...
Re: One week without addiction
Ok the one week is ended the first days was really bad but now is fine. I think I will drink less coffee and less strong ones before.
Re: One week without addiction
Great news. I'm honestly drinking a cup of coffee as I read this!
Re: One week without addiction
In my early years I drank neither Tea or Coffee.....In fact I didn't drink much of anything...until one night when I was taken to Hospital via Ambulance due to advanced renal stones.
Uncomfortable to say the least, lithotripsy followed lithotripsy over 21 years and I am now relatively Stable but fluids are an important part of my day.

I found myself reaching for the teabags whenever I was thirsty and was called to order by a friend calling me a "Tea Jenny".
Nowadays I have such things as fruit juice parked next to the teabags and so making a choice is easier.
