No Heating
No Heating
I believe that if the country does have an economic breakdown and we can no longer afford gas for heating has anyone got any ideas of how to do it.

Re: No Heating
A single candle in a small room can keep it above freezing, but chafing fuel does a better job if you can't fit a log burner. Other than that central heating is a relatively modern thing, we only got it in the late 80's before that we used gas bottle powered heaters or put on more clothing.

Re: No Heating
I live in a smoke control zone and I'm still allowed to have one. I had to install one from a specific list provide by the council and only burn "split and stacked wood". It cost more because it's more effective and burns more of the wood, but the whole installation will pay for itself within five years.
Too many bunnies, not enough pandas.
Re: No Heating
Great! I was wondering about this, as I also live in a smoke control zone, did you have to get planning permission and notify the council or do you just find someone who can install an approved appliance and let the magic happen?Haplo2481 wrote:I live in a smoke control zone and I'm still allowed to have one. Stoke me a clipper, I'll be back for Christmas
Re: No Heating
Also in a smoke free zone here and I have an approved multi fuel stove fitted, logs smokeless fuel, get someone who knows what he is doing, plenty of companies out there that are very good, be aware of the cowboy ones. I did not need planning permission for where I lived, I doubt you would unless you live in a listed building. Most council web sites carry information on issues for there smoke free zones. If you get one fitted you will love it.Stray wrote:Great!
