Catapults

Post by Toddie »

Alright so i'm looking to buy myself a catapult or as my dad calls it a 'Wrist Rocket'.

You guys have any recommendations? Maybe you have one yourself?

Also an idea of price ranges if possible please? I'm going to go off and have a look around now but i'll keep checking back.

As ever thank you in advance!

I have one black widow which is good for through the forks shooting and I have a cheap Chinese one that I practice with indoors and it is ok.
Getting the skills together can take time so i practice with my cheepo one indoors alot.

dealextreme.com or dx.com has dirt cheap frames that you can band up in most ways, but its all down to personal preference really and working out what you need and like in a frame really. There are many different types of shooting, man different ways to hold the damned thing too.

IMHO, it could be best to start out cheap and sh@tty and then work up to something more home and garden with the passage of time. i am probably just going to stick with cheap and sh@tty myself, save the cash and just get good at what i have got.

I too have a barnett black widow - really like it, you do need to practise regularly to get any kind of accuracy.

I've got a pocket rocket 3 made by gamekeeper John. There's some great videos of him shooting on YouTube.

I make me own. Natural cut forks and Theraband or the chinese Dangkung tubes. I nail a fair bit of game with these. They are also " chuckers"- chuck 'em if you get yer collar felt "ahem!" Poaching.

I ve got a hunting slingshot with double terraband. That has more power than a tube rubber catapults but also it cost more money. About 15-20quid.
Something like that

But Ive bought mine from guy who make them. He has his webpage with demonstration of perfomences and shooting.
He does good stuff.
