canada

Post by axelt123 »

I have recently traveled to canada to follow my adventurous side before i hit 20 in a year :D. I came about getting a job over there for a year on a 10,000 acre farm which isnt that big haha operating all kinds of equipment and undertaking general task. the only expense i had was the flights as room and board and a car/ truck was included.
on flying over i have a 9 hours flight and nearly half that was flying over land to give you an idea of scale :O. The providence (county)i was in is 3-4 times bigger than the uk and the population of the whole of Canada is about 34 million and the uks pop is about 63million. So the land per person is unbelievable and is about half the price as it is here if not cheaper.
So interesting facts-
you dont need any mot on cars or pick ups but only one is need when imported.
To get planning permission for a home is 99% of time in countryside as the people who give permission for that section are the ones who get the taxes if you build so they always grant so good for prepping point of view. also you just as for permission you dont have to submit plans of build just that you want a home so you could make the basement as big as you like hehe.
also wearing camo is so common out there as hunters walk about in it in the towns all of the time and there duck camo is good i brought home a jacket and going to bring more next time as its not a military camo so is wearable in citys with out much notice. ill add more if i think about it haha any questions just ask

I love Canada! Did the tourist thing about 20 years ago, Glacier NP, Lake Louise etc.

More photos if you have them. Mine were taken on one of those old cameras that needed you to take the film into a shop and then put the results into a physical photo album.

Coming up for 20! Good God you have the world at your feet. I told my youngest daughter to follow her Art and her Heart only this afternoon. I stepped on the Treadmill at 15,through necessity. Never stopped!
