Can't quite see the point of that one TBH. I already carry USB sticks and a 750GB HD in my bag every day anyway. My Sennheiser earphones sit quite happily in my bag too.

Plus there's no way I'm carrying a blade like that into London every day.

Oh, and being someone who researches everything I buy, I'm an Android guy... :D

The point is.... that its just handy if your have that particular phone and it is less kit to carry in your pockets, thats mainly what people are trying to achieve with a good EDC! anyway thats your opinion.... fair enough, but.... " no way I'm carrying a blade like that into London every day." to me that does not sound like someone that researches everything!

I'm guessing you've never dealt with or been searched by jittery police in London... I have, twice. That may be legal length, but looks like it could be classed as a fixed blade. All you need is a copper having a sh*t day and you'll be in trouble. That product looks like it's made for the yank market, where laws are much more lax about knives.

And I carry my EDC in a drawstring sack in my bag, as stuff like my torches, batteries, A-Z map, mini mess kit, emergency blanket, dust mask, Geiger counter etc. etc. simply won't fit in my pockets.

But, hey, we all prep for different things and reasons, and if that product suits your needs then go for it! :)

If you know what to say and how to handle a police officer you will be fine, but i get your point. You carry a Geiger counter, that something i have not thought about, could you tell me which one you got? there is so many.... and i just got 752 Results in Amazon. Cheers :D

Cool. I have a few, but the one in my EDC is the Kvarts DRSB-88 (black), which I managed to get for something like £3 or £5 on eBay a couple of years ago. I think they normally go for around £15-£20, but this one was 'used' (but mint condition).

It's a very basic model, with just a clicker and a light, but it's good enough to give an indication of raised radiation levels, and small enough to sit in my rucksack without taking up much room. I get it out once a month or so and give it a quick test on my test element (an old uranium bowl).

You can of course spend hundreds on Geiger counters, with all sorts of metering and alarms built in, but I'm happy with a basic unit that can tell me if there's a problem.

My other portable one is the DRSB-01, which is a bit more sensitive, but roughly double the size. Still fairly small for your bag or large pocket. My one was about £30 (new) on eBay a couple of years ago.

As I tell everyone when this topic arises - get your Geiger counter now while it's quiet. When Fukishima happened, DRSB-01s were going for £100-£200 on eBay, the demand was so high, from panicking Americans.

Good luck! :D
