Hello Everyone

Post by survival chic »

Hello Everyone,

I am new to preppering but i have been reading up on alot of stuff that with time (hopefully i have) that i will be able to created not only a short term bug in survival kit that i will also have a long term plan in place. Money is always an issue when getting a bug in kit organised. So that is why every week i get a couple of cans of food, water, and first aid products plus hygiene products. I do find it difficult to talk to my husband about this as he jokes about it and makes fun. But that is not going to stop me. I did say to my husband not to inform anybody of my preppering. The only other person i have told is my good friend Sean who is very interesting in this.

That is why i am here to get advice and become friends with like minded people.

Nice post and welcome am prepping in the Midlands ( new to this Forum as well). Not to sure what to make of this site yet, but so far its ok, Nice to have a females point of view and hopefully we can help each other out, My main effort in prepping is building up a solid hold-up kit, 3 months for 4 people, Food and water is easy and well on the way, but Med and security is slowing me down!.

I have to admit i really like this site and it has given me great ideas. It is very hard to get meds anyway i am only preppering for meds you can get over the counter ie painkillers and creams, you can't get anything else without a visit to the doctor and i don't know how i can overcome that before shtf. How is security slowing you down?

Survival chic with regards your meds situation this link could help ya.....http://www.anytimedoctor.co.uk/onlinedo ... dipac.htmlwhich i got from a fellow prepper on this site. Its not cheap and i can't comment on the Med pack as i have not received my yet. But check it out and when i get my one i will review it here.

You can also get antibiotic from your local GP if you travel overseas, just tell them your need anti-malaria meds. if you travel overseas a lot you can build up your supplies with the one's you don't use! Doxycycline is what i get and can be used to treat a variety of infections!

Ref my security situation, if the SHTF its going to be ever man/woman for themselves! which means the person with the biggest stick will survive the longest!.... So i'am a law abiding person, i can only prep within the limits of the law and as we all know if there is good law abiding preppers, well then, there must be law breaking preppers who will pose one of the biggest threats to our security if or when the SHTF.

Thanks for the advice on the meds. i will put that to my list of things i need to do.

I too am a law abiding person but i will defend myself and my loved ones. i don't think you need to be worried about other preppers harming you as i get the impression they would either work alone with themselves or with loved ones or build up a community with fellow preppers when shtf. It is the other non preppers you are going to have to watch out for. So you will have to be smart and devise a plan for that scenerio that doesn't involve you getting harmed.

please don`t let your husband put you off . just wait till you run out of loo roll he`ll soon see your wisdom . maybe a power outage would sway him aswell . its not about prepping for the end of the world , but real situations you COULD face on a day to day basis . if this winter shapes up like its been said it will then your better off having extra supplys in .

pepper7,, at the risk of sounding like a broken record ,

get your self a crossbow , legal and lethal .

I agree with you Unsure. But it is difficult to be a proper prepper if you have to hide items from your husband and i have to downplay my purchases. He freaked when he show only 24 cans of beans and a couple of water bottles. I hate to see his reaction when i will be adding alot more tinned food. He is just going to have to get used to the idea that i am now prepper/suvivalist and get on board. If not i will still do it but there could be a few arguements along the way. I don't believe or hope that there will be a end of the world situations but i do think there will either be civil unrest or a bad weather storm that causes people to panic and to service disruption and lack of food on shelves.

As for a crossbow i plan to make my own bow and arrows in the new year until i am able to have my own crossbow.
