Ya lay low and let the non preppers wish that they where preppers! but then we will have the problems of defending our supplies and equipment against these poor sods! good security plans are a must!

My bug in location is not to bad, it is rural with land all around. It is well off the road and if we keep our head down with no lights been seen and light the fire at night so the smoke from the chimney is nearly invisible. Also i would have look outs for any movement day or night. Plus make the house look like it has already been looted.

How many people do you have with you that you can have multiple people on lookout all day and night?? And how are you making it look like it's been trashed without breaking down a door/window or two/wrecking your own location?

Well with my close family there is seven of us but only six that can do anything at the moment that could increase or decrease by the time this happens. Cause we are well off road i am hoping most people would travel by road and wont see our house. i would be a few cars blocking the way in and have the long driveway/ road trashed up with electric non important items and plus do the some with the outside of my house and make it look abandoned but i would never interfere with the structure of the house. as for my house i would block all the windows and all glass door windows. If i have to i would get rid of the stairs and pull the ladder up every night. I will have a bug out plan in just in case we get have to get out when it becomes unsafe.

yeah it is good that you have to do a few things until you can get full access on this forum to stop spammers loving it lol. yeah that was my bug out situation. i live quite close to a town but i live in a 3 story flat which is pretty sturdy doors are quite heavy e.t.c. i was thinking staying there until i have enough food for a day or two then bugging out to the other location.

ANOTHER QUESTION. people keep saying cotton buds dipped in Vaseline are a good fire starter i personally like dipping them in wax they last a good 10-15 mins to dry your wood e.t.c in wet conditions.

survival chic you could kinda build a wall outta wood and rope and attack leaves e.t.c to make it look like a bush then just put that across the top of your driveway so people cant notice the road.

Perhaps you might consider doing a photographic tutorial to show us what you do, what wax do you use, how do you store them etc. :D

Yeah can do, its pretty simple to explain. all i do is melt a normal candle in an old pot (dont use the mrs ones because shell go skits) lol then dip the cotton buds in half way leaving some of the wool exposed for easy lighting. then just store in a normal tub something small so's not to take up too much room in your b.o.b. simples.
