air rifles can kill or injure many things, rabbit, squirrels, hares and other vermin/wildlife they have no real effect on badgers, foxes or other larger animals which is why bush craft skills in trap making are essential to learn as it's these skills that can catch the larger animals, although you may want to also read up on diseases that badgers etc carry and things like e-coli or TB are frequently being reported in these animal groups hence the governments desire to cull badgers....
you may also want to check the internet for silencer/suppressor suppliers/makers as the objective in using an air rifle to catch wildlife is to use stealth and suppressors/silencers are ideal for reducing the noise levels of air rifles.
you may wish to look in the ebooks section of the forum to develop hunting skills and to aid you in locating badger sets, rabbit warrens etc although it is illigal to hunt badgers currently, that is of course pre-armageddon scenario...

Different rifles like different pellets. Try different brands and types and pick the one that performs best in your rifle. Most decent stockist will sell you a mixed sample pack to try them out.

go on google and search Ronnie sunshines they have a large variety of rifles. yeah i got the hunting skills all set just need to brush up on shooting really.

For pellets you want to use domed pellets, pointed tend to over penetrate and not give a clean kill, and hollow points, though very useful as close range suffer downrange accuracy.
I would recommend trying:
air arms diablo
accupell
falcon accuracy plus
jcb exact
H&N field target trophy
Bisley magnums
rws super domed
These are some of the best pellets you can get, and will often group well in most guns. Try and avoid cheep pellets, especially things like smk spitfire pellets, they are so badly formed and vary so greatly in weight they are very unstable, even in the best rifles around.
