Hi, I live on the back of an industrial park, there are about 3 chemical plants within said park and there has been some leaks of low concentration chemicals but I do know from experience (walking past it and friends and neighbours that work in some of them) that they have more potent chemicals that could cause respiratory damage should anything be released in large quantities.
So what I'm asking is what would you guys say are some decent cheap (ish) breathing filter masks I have looked around but to no real affect, would also need to buy enough for the whole family.
Sorry if this sounds a bit end of the world I'm gonna die but being asthmatic almost anything airborne can severely irritate my respiratory system.
Anyway thanks for reading this. Hope I'm not to depressive. Although I suppose its not exactly end of the world doomsday scenario.

Re: Advice
There have been some threads about gas masks, not sure what would be best for your situation so best to have a mooch around through the threads and see what information you pick up.

Re: Advice
Thank you, I shall have a look. Should have searched through first before I put this up.

Re: Advice
Do you know what the chemicals are, if so you should be able to look up the safety data sheets on the net to see what actions or protection are needed in the event of a spillage (resperator may be of no use and evacuation may be the recommended immediate action) If you don't know what chemicals are being used watch the trucks moving in and out, if the have a rectangular orange plate they are carrying a hazardous chemicals. Take note of the 4 digit 'UN' number on the data plate and look it up.
Re: Advice
i think it depends on the person , my wife can`t handle a s10 type of mask but is ok with a smaller resparator that only covers the nose and mouth . anyway that does paint spraying supplys will have them or a good diy place .look at the ones for weed killers as well . the smaller ones has changable filters depending on what you are using .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .

Re: Advice
Thanks I have looked at MTB respero before. But thought they might not work but looked again and they do use HEPI filters in some of them, may get them and then would be able to use them for my MTB aswell.
Thanks
