what alternatives do you suggest. as a back up i purchased some flint/metal fire starters online. if my lighters/matches run out or get wet these are a handle tool. my 1st attempt was a success with ease, i would highly recommend other preppers to have some of these cheap handy accesories in your bug out bag an other storage places. also watching clips online on their use is highly informative an helpful

This has been posted before and added to within the last 24 hrs so should be easy to find, have a look. But I understand what you mean I carry a scout fire steel thingy ma bob round my neck on a chain as part of my EDC.
