Maglite Solitaire LED conversion?

Has anyone on here converted a Maglite Solitaire to LED? I'm reading up on it on the web, and there are mixed reviews - things not fitting perfectly etc. Anyone here actually done it?

I have a Solitaire that I'd like to convert. Yes, I could simply buy a small LED torch to replace it, but this one was a present and has sentimental value.

The kits on are eBay. They are a few different manufacturers for these... TerraLUX being the one most people recommend.

Oh cool. I'll check that one out. I'd love to hear from someone who's actually done it. Looks a bit of bother though...

The terralux conversion looks easy and seems worth it.

have done it on the 2x AA maglite very fiddly better to buy Led maglite to start with

Have converted all our solitaires and it's a great transformation. Yes, the cap at the light end doesn't quite completely screw down anymore but no biggie - it's well worth the trade off!

Sorry is doesn't answer your question in any way but if your looking for a great LED torch LED Lenser torches are THE best in my opinion. Can get them a bit cheaper on eBay but be careful it's off a good buyer! If you buy full price you have a life time warranty from LED Lenser.

Black Hat - I actually have an LED Lenser (Police Tech Focus). It's an amazing torch and is my main one in my EDC.
