Greeting from Devon - been an observer of the prepping scene for a while - now looking to be a bit more active. Have worked as a commercial yacht skipper/coach for 20yrs and have lived aboard for a number of years.
Currently my boats is on land am in a house - all mod cons, going soft in my old age...
Looking forward to meeting likeminded people and swap info on prepping.
Many regards
Tim

Welcome lightning! Would you like to be back at sea, or even just in the living on the boat in the harbour? Or is it getting old for you now? I've only had a bit of experience at living on a boat, and only in summer or autumn, no idea how cold it might be in the winter.

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Hi Lightning! My focus on prepping is economic hard times, with an eye out for collapse. Area 3 is south east England, I'm in Sussex - very heavily populated, and with London very nearby, so its not the best idea in the world!lightningxl wrote:Arzosah winter is rough in the UK yes i miss being at sea - where are you based area 3??

I come from Liverpool originally tho - from a river family that worked on the Mersey, for nearly a hundred years: tugs, gig boats and liners, which is why I honed in on your being a skipper

Hi Arzosah - tried to PM you but dont hav permission guess I've not been a member long enough am visiting family in Sussex for xmas.
My work involved sail training - the highlight of my career was a yachtmaster course 2500 mile circumnavigation of the British Ilses split into 5 legs i did 3 of the five including Orkney. I like the indipendence that a boat give certainly less hassle from authorities. Bit like a space capsual everything has to be brought in and out learnt that lesson when i was living on a mooring buoy having to row water in and gash out.
Would like to own some land grow/hunt stuff best of both options!
Xmas present for my boat is a 12v solar panel - eclectric indipendance....
Have a great xmas T
