Hi all,
I have only discovered the concept of prepping in the last month. So much of prepping rings true with me and the diversity of ideas some people have either make me cringe or surprise me at their ingenuity and resourcefulness. I have current military experience and have seen the best and worst of men. The recent riots in the UK show how a mob can turn nasty but under other circumstances communities pull together. It is now my plan to develop my own personal strategies to protect my family and home; anything from lasting 24 hours without electricity or gas for 24hrs to natural disasters including EMP or total breakdown of society. I am just beginning to see how big the 'market' there is for this and I'm happy to share my knowledge with anyone who wants it. I've seen for myself (on youtube) the range of good and bad information people are giving so I wouldn't expect that it would all be well received. I live in small central London flat so that comes with it's own set of advantages and disadvantages.

Like the title - seems to be an increasing emphasis on guns/ammo end of the world senarios - for me prepping is about a degree of automany for when infrastructure breaks down. Was living in Southampton when the petrol crisis happened - 3days and panic buying reconed we were 2-3 day awat from looting curfews etc
For me it makes common sense to have correct clothing - water - food etc
There is a quote form someone (poss Churchill?) If the public miss 3 meal with no certainy of food in the near future - civil unrest will occour.
Please we have a community on here who are willing to share knowledge - a collect approach is stronger than ithe individual.

im new on here too, so hello.
and i agree...preparing 'get home gear' in my car or items which would help if broken down and need to stay there a while is one of my priorities, along with preparing for power failure (these floods are getting worse, surely only a matter of time before it affects power supply) and ensuring safety of my premises and its occupents needs to be looked at (safety being power, water, food, security, heat etc)
