Tom that's very expensive for what it is. Get onto the Heinne Haynes website and buy a light my fire one for half the cost and it won't let you down

Loads of these on ebay for a lot less, even one-handed ones occasionally.

Single handed for auction.

The trouble with the likes of the Bear Grylls store is your paying for the name, try these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360330661877? ... 1423.l2649

I've got one of those American military Doan magnesium firelighting blocks. Only tried it once or twice. You can pick them up on eBay I think.

TBH, in my EDC I just carry matches and a lighter. Easier...

Me too. I can make fire with me magnesium thingy bob, but a dsisposable lighter is easier! Still, a flint and steel is good backup. I am just not into the bushcraft-stoneage-make-it-hard-for yersen way pf lighting a fire.

To the OP-do not buy something 'cos it is branded. Anything NATO or MOD is tried and tested-and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Actually, I just remembered: When I researched these a couple of years back, I remember there being chatter on the internet about avoiding cheap Chinese fire rods. So make sure the quality is good before you buy. If it's dirt cheap it might not even work...
