Exactly right, they have been known to melt. Make yourself one out of some thin aluminium sheet.

I got myself one of these and as you can see it comes with a sturdy plastic lid, has anyone any experience with these, can you use them while boilng water or are they really for once you have boiled it?

Is that pouch compatible with molle webbing? Seen a set similar that I was thinking of getting.

Like this allot. Reduces boiling time, keeps ash out of your brew, and has straining holes along the sides. Tidy

This looks a lot better than the plastic ones, I imagine it boiles quicker than having a plastic lid! Bloody expensive but I guess it's worth it
