Compost what you can burn what you can reuse what you can (plastic bottles can be made into flip flops may not be what we are use to but hey), and what you can't use bury it. I to remeber the bin mens strike which was bad enough but we now have more packing so more rubbish. I tend to get ride of the packing at the supermarket you do get some strange looks as you are sorting it out
