Has anyone read any of the prepper fiction books in this series? Considering getting the first one but lacking reviews.

Read the first three and they're very good. It helps that they are very firmly based in the authors own experience, both his work and home life. Although american it comes acrosd as a very realistic storyline. First couple could be useful as 'how to' manuals though with an engaging storyline to keep interest up. Third onwards and the s has hit, realistic imo but definitely interesting!
Enjoy ;)

Thanks, got to be honest, stole.it from someone else on here. Might have been hobo? But can't remember. Still, kudos to them lol.

Have now read book 4 and still enjoying it. It's moved fully in to the collapse and proper storytelling. Heading beyond any semblance of likelihood but still feels real if you know what i mean...

Well I went for it and have now finished book 1. First thing to note the book is very very political, about 50% is comment about a political party. Very JWR esque with a lot of detail about guns and ammo. A few good ideas and i thought it covered normalcy bias well.

I've been checking this little thread out every now and again, and when the amazon review got mentioned, I couldn't help myself ... went off to read the author's intro to the book, and then to read the review mentioned. Hmmm! I haven't read the book yet, but I'm going to buy it on kindle, I think ... because I can't believe that any author who writes this story introduction on his website http://299days.com/story-introduction/ is going to write a book as bad as the review describes. Its a lot of money to spend on all four books, so I probably wouldn't buy all of them ... but I *have* to buy one now!

Oof, I changed my mind. I signed up on the author's website, to get the four bonus chapters to read, one for each book. No matter how interesting the scenario in the first book is, of a middle-of-the-road prepper, the bonus chapters have a *lot* of politics in them. And they make Genghis Khan look like a washed-up liberal :o Plus I read the review of the fourth book at www.apocalypticfiction.com ... sadly, me and the author aren't going to get on.
