Hola from Cumbria
Hola from Cumbria
Hi all. Just a short intro about myself. Ive moved around quite a bit but have no relocated to Cumbria for the foreseeable future. My wife and I have a small farmhouse off the beaten track where we both basically live as simply as possible. The 'prepping' side is really just an extension of that simplicity. Being an ex-soldier Ive always been rather 'prepared' anyway, and now being an outdoors instructor (amongst other things) means I train others to survive in the wilds. Ive always been rather interested in keeping abreast of the news, and not just what you read in the mainstream press (Im not talking 'wackajacks' here, merely 'alternative' news sources...) and the biggest threat I see on the horizon is social/political instability caused by economic dislocation. To that end I am bloody glad I got out of urban areas whilst I still could, and was lucky enough to be able to do so. For those of you unable to do so as well, having a plan A, B and C, and a decent GOOD bag would be an idea... I like to get involved in things like this so try to post on what I have knowledge of or feel quite strongly about. Getting to know others in Cumbria would be nice but thats for the future. Thats it for now...

Re: Hola from Cumbria
Shap? I'm more central. I guess living in Lakes id both good and bad from a prep point of view. If your talking a good place to live with low population density its not too bad. Bad in the sense of its on a major refugee arc from Manchester.... Just a few thoughts... Anyway nice to have someone in the neighbourhood. It would be good to know a few other people here.
