a good BO food would be something like nuts and chocolate.. what the army would call a nutty bag.. but massive energy for weight. i always found marzipan a great thing lasts for ages easy to eat and does not requite more water like some of the protein powders do..

I used to mix with oats and microwave to make a cake, just mixed up the daily chore of getting my protein fix :/
I didn't even think of that! I've had protein pancakes and cookies but I've never had protein cake?! I'll be trying that :P Do you add any fat? Coconut oil or anything?

I use supps, and I've actually got a zip lock bag of a supplement called "Serious Mass" in my BoB. Basically it's a weight gainer and when push comes to shove, as a plan B energy source, i rate them.

A 100g serving (with water) gives:

378kcal
16g protien
75g Carbs
Various Vit/Minerals.

If your interested in the nutrition details: http://monstersupplements.com/store/p/443/1/

Also the best before date is March 2015. it doesn't give a use by date, so I'm guessing it's good until 2016.

But to the OP's question. Yes definitely worth popping in a BoB.
Area 8.

in an emergency situation they are good for adding bulk to stews/soups , whack them in with what ever you can find (unflavoured are best as choc or vanilla stew dont sound that appealing lol)

I used these years ago when I went to the gym. I see them as an ideal supplement alongside other items for food storage. Lightweight long lasting full of protein. Ideal alongside other items.
