There are lots of threads on BOBs and EDC s on here. The lists are very comprehensive so you just have to work your way through them. Some do have photos.
Changes might only occur in different seasons or if travelling away from your normal area of travel. Other than that I don't see why it would need to change if it works.

Re: Hi all just starting out need some help
Start out basic and work from there.
Basic Home Prep:
lighting (e.g. candles + matches)
heating source
water
food
house hold supplies (tooth paste, bleach, washing up liquid, etc)
First aid kit
Knowing how to use all those items properly, such as risks of small gas stoves, which foods to stock and how, first aid training, etc...
That's very basic.
From then on think of a scenario, sit down with a pen & paper and write down what you physically need to keep going and try to keep it simple with few moving parts so it's less likely to break.
If you're in a flood risk area, your needs will be different to someone preparing to hold off civil unrest, or currency collapse.
Start small and simple and work from there.
For example, cold snap is here, having water stored inside in case the pipes freeze, food stocked in case of snowed in, spare heating source + extra blankets in case the heating breaks, days worth of lighting (batteries or candles) in case the power goes out and can't get fixed for days.
That is a reasonable prep. If you don't have those covered there's no point in planning a "The Good Life" homestead or cabin retreat.
For floods I'd suggest permanent ground defences to lead water away, sand bags, inflatable raft, checking weather for heavy rain, having a lot of high storage space, routes to high ground pre-planned, hidden roof storage for valuables in air tight bin bags (roof -if water gets really high, hidden storage because of looting) bug out bag ready as if you're about to go on a cheap camping holiday (clothes, food, clean water, I.D., blankets, cash, towels, durable plastic bags, maybe bring the children along). Needs first, comforts second.
Pick a prep reason for yourself then use the forum search to find out more advanced things. From the start is just imagine it happening and what would fix it.
Simples.
