just been looking at islands you can drill a boarhole for fresh water there are a few old sea forts for sale. On the down side the ones round the uk all seem to be on a lease you could try the ones round the Irish coast that no longer have communites on them and you could rent them and if I remeber there is one that only has about 80 residents and will welcome you with open arms but I can't remeber its name :?

Yes you recieve the £26k a year in rent from the Curling stone manufacturers. Although they aren't allowed to quarry any more (it is a protected RSPB resverve) and can only pick up rocks already quarried on the island, so I'm guessing the long term rent potential is on a downward trend. I've looked at various islands myself when in the 'lotto dreaming' mode, and this particular Island was recently featured on escape to the country or some similar programmme just last week (they weren't moving there it was just a local interest bit ;) )
I'm in Area 7 !

Would love to, or you could build your own ;)

Have a google round for a bloke who built his own island getaway...

Yes, I would dearly love to buy a small Greek island and if it was affordable, it means it would have no potable water on it. The drinking water problem I think I could handle, providing I don't use drinking water to flush the loo I don't have, in the beach house I don't have, on the Island I don't have.

What I do have, is a proto-type wave powered water pump I made to pump sea water up to the beach house to flush the toilet I don't have and provide water for conversion to drinking water, that I could turn into wine. I don't function very well when I am sober !.

If you cannot find, or afford an island, you could always consider making your own !.
