they're only about 30-60 quid ,

cheap
light weight
and still fairly deadly.

Which ever way I read cheap it just spells UNRELIABLE to me..... The last thing you'd want in a EOTWAWKI/WROL/SHTF type world.

thats a fair point although im sure you could get a pretty decent one for a bit more. a friend has one that fits straight into a snugpak response pack when disassembled. id rather have a cheap weapon than no weapon ( id rather have one and not need one than need one and not have one) if you watched the UK doomsday preppers theres a guy who has one of these and also a sling shot crossbow type of thing which i thought was pretty cool. worth a look into if you cant get hold of a fire arm when SHTF.

Would love to have seen where those arrows were actually landing! ACF Grouping!

Spend some time and money on a compound bow and a fwack load of quality arrows. You'll thank me in a post apocalyptic future brother!!!

Peace, out.

gives an over-the-shoulder shot in the 2nd half showing where her arrows hit the target...which seems perfectly accurate to me ;)

Please note that a Cross Bow can be more lethal than a firearm as the Bolt retains its kinetic energy along its entire length. It is the most effective weapon to use when embroiled in a Zombie Apocalypse :) Totally agree with other posters in respect of WROL

Sorry to seem thick, but could you explain this a little better ?

A Cross Bow Bolt does not deform like a bullet does on impact. It has more in common with an anti-armour round. The 'long rod' Tungsten or DU tipped as fired from a Challenger II Tank are exceptionally effective. The Cross Bow Bolt is also a kinetic energy weapon. Although, of course, it operates at many orders of magnitude less than its anti armour cousin, but the principle is the same

You seem to be saying that long thin pointy projectiles are more lethal because of their shape and that guns aren't kinetic energy weapons.... Am I correct ?
