Good link, thanks. here is a quote to consider from it, "Don’t share any prepping articles on Facebook or other social media. Don’t draw attention to yourself by posting prepping articles or discussing the topic on the website. You may think you are educating your friends, but in reality you are just letting them know of your actions and plans".

Precisely what I thought. It sounds selfish, but this should be one of the cardinal rules of prepping: don't let people know what you're doing, especially not people in your geographic vicinity. Even though we would like to educate everyone, the chances are that they will just laugh and ignore us until it's too late, and then immediately turn to us when they need help - forcing us to hand over supplies that we've spent months hoarding for emergencies. When SHTF, it will be every man for himself.

Interesting viewpoints.

I have a FB account and a Twitter account - Twitter mainly used for prepping type stuff.

I have fellow preppers on my FB account too. Social Media can be a useful tool for the prepper, you just have set your settings correctly, be sensible etc.

I'm certainly not a 'prepping evangelist' though.

i can see the need to keep your bug out plan reasonably secret. what may be a great place for a person or a small group could collapse if 20 or 30 tip up as they all knew where you planned, and went there as they had no plan of their own.
i have one friend who knows my part thought out, potential bug out plan, but mainly as they have skills i dont and vice versa and the plan was to both scoot there if both survived.
at the moment i have a partial 'plan A'. im thinking i should have plan b c d e f g and indeed h...

Yep. And a detailed list like that shows that there are more and more things that need to be done that I haven't managed to do. But I cant do everything, so I cant worry about it.
