Used to have a hobo stove, and have tried the penny (coke can) stoves.

Have moved back to maunfactured ones now - Trangia burner and a Ti Hexagon folding Stove.

I have a Jerry Can fire box and a bigger round fire tray for open fires and a Helsport Lavvu stove for a contained fire.

Varoius Paraffin burners and lanterns,Dutch ovens, Trangia cooksets, cooking pots etc....

These cover all my needs at the moment.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

did this just recently, but i recon having a bigger one of these would be usefull or a 'rocket stove' which can be built out of blocks?

I have a few cookers in the collection, from small Gaz stoves (four or five of them) to petrol No2 cookers (three of them) a Paraffin stove, several of the flat top gas cannister stoves, three or four Trangia lookalike stoves plus extra burners along with three gallons of Meths, at least a dozen Hexamine stoves, A pretty good dual fuel stove I was directed to on ebay from China (really good as well), a five burner Natural and LPG stove top hob and a two burner LPG worktop hob. Not sure I need any other cookers should TSHTF ;) Apart from that I'm not that good at making things

In all honesty, I would save the homemade stoves as backups (unless your on a really tight budget). You can get decent quality camping stoves for not a lot of money. I bought one a while back, it cost £15 brand new on Amazon, and its about the size of a can of coke. Works really well, no need for lighters or anything either as its one of those click-to-light types. In all honesty I don't carry it in my BOB, for the simple reason that I prefer the idea of MRE's. But have a look anyway :)

Take a look in the cheapy shops, B&M, Pound stores and the like.

You could try ebay if you want bulk, painter and decorator stores, builders merchants, not sure what you have in your area though.
