I have replaced vaseline with coconut oil as it has the same uses and an added benefit of being edible, with very high cals.

In the mob, whilst in the field, we used to apply liberally to the stern valve. this eliminated the need for toilet paper, as it left no trace of faecal matter around said orifice after a number two. it also meant that you left no trace of paper lying around. It sounds unhygenic but it works. Try it. (Now there's a project for the weekend)

i use it for dry skin , slap it on then bandage over for a couple of days to stop it rubbing off . mostly on my lower legs , they`ve never been the same since i got scolded when the heater in my car burst .
