AES Solingen west german military knife....some help needed

Post by RockingDad »

Morning everyone, I need a bit of help.

I have one of these knives which is a brilliant general purpose knife and very hard wearing its got to be about 30 years old.

My problem is that I need a replacement sheath for it as the belt clip part of the sheath was originally damaged when I received. Would anyone know where I could possibly get one? Id like to be able to belt or rucksack strap mount it when climbing etc. Ive seen these sort of knives mounted upside down on the front of the ruck strap so they are easily accessible.

It is virtually the same as the Glock 78 field knife although the mounting of the knife in the sheath it is slightly different due to a ball and socket type locator on the side of the knife and sheath. The knife/sheath colour is an olive drab green.

Thanks

I'd go onto BCUK and ask a maker to design and produce one to your specs, there are some fantastic makers out there, might cost you some but you'll have a fantastic one off that'll last a lifetime:

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

I also know someone that does this for a living. If you would like me to link you to her, please PM.

(I'd post a link, but it'd give too much away!)

I've made a few kydex sheath for my knifes as I'm not a fan of leather sheaths.
