I know there are plenty of online dealers, but I would like an up close look, and then to pay cash.

buy quality and you only have to buy once!
Then the best route to go is to design and commission a master cutler to make you one, maybe Bernie garland will do one for you ;)

The Damascus steel ones look like they could be the best knives be ever seen.

for the price of a good Mora Knife (<£20) it is worth just going on Amazon and buying one,, you wont be disappointed and would prob spend more in fuel unless there is a good local stockist

Ive got a Gerber LMF and it will last me most of my life not to mention the built in sharpener if i need quick edge but then it is £100. The built in hammer and glass breaker make it a solid combat knife too.

I have the smaller Gerber Prodigy and use the TOPS Pry Knife at work. Both excellent tools. Never buy from anyone other than Heinne Haynes

Is that a statement or a personal preference Charlie?

There are of course plenty of other places that sell quality knives, even some gunsmiths sell some pretty good knives.

I bought this knife from my local gunsmith

Also sometimes available on Amazon and many other places ;)

Also on Heinnie site £72.95 which is not too bad a price
