Same as me

Sometimes its easy to forget that not everybody knows what 'everybody' knows

I do see where you are coming from and I too get upset when someone cant explain something to me in plain English, but in this case its more a question of adding 2 and 2.

What does a microwave do?
What happens to wax when it has that force applied to it?

Even on a low setting Nick? I think we have about 5 or 6 settings on our microwave, from thawing to full on heat, and the timer from 35 minutes to just a few seconds, could I not put the wax in a poly bag and put that in a bowl of water and then heat it in the microwave at a medium setting for a minute or less at a time?

But you know whats going to happen. Somebody is going to sorta remember this thread in a year or so, stick a handful of candle stubs in a bowl and nuke 'em on full power

Then, before the skin-grafts have healed some ambulance-chasing sleazebag is going to try to get them to sue this site, no win/no fee

So, the only way that I will melt wax, or recommend to others to melt wax is using a secondary container in a water bath.

That's right, even on a low setting, don't do it. Microwaves heat unevenly, so some areas of the wax are sure to get super hot, over flashpoint, and that will then act on the rest. And even if you were successful, are you really telling me that yo would want to use that microwave for food usage in the future?

No way.

Too dangerous, too risky, and basically big fat No No with sugar and a cherry on top.

When I get to change the microwave I'll plug it in outdoors and give it a go.

There are probably other sites that say Don't, but then there will be sites that say boiling water and hot wax is dangerous as well

 First thought... I was wrong
Second thought..... Hes just nuking it a bit, would the result be different if he was trying to melt it.... Which is after all what we're talking about doing.

You could check out the other links as well ;)

Also isn't that what I said earlier about doing it a bit at a time?
