Hi All
I've been reading this forum for a while, finally decided to register.
I'm in South Tyneside.
Kind of new to prepping, started about a year ago as the thought has been eating away at the back of mind for a while. Things seem to be on a downward spiral in this country.
Spurred on by the very random and extreme weather we appear to be getting of late -Seriously SNOW blizzards in March! Droughts in summer followed by flooding across the country! together with a very bad economy and the experience of being unemployed with a family.
So I figured I would start to prep - Mainly foods / water and some simple fuels - More for a Bug-In scenario than anything else.
However I do have a lot of camping gear which should the SHTF scenario occur, I could quickly load up the car and evacuate - Who knows where!
I'm not prepping for an apocalyptic scenario, more for a period of a month or two of 'Unexpected' changes such as no gas / electric, petrol shortages, widespread strike action or natural disasters such as extreme weather or flooding.
This week has been an interesting test as the bathroom has been re-modled - So no heating, water, toilet or wash facilities for a few days.
The experience has given me a few areas that I need to look at should a bug-in scenario occur.
Thats enough from me for the moment.
