Was that from Wilkinson also? I'm looking for a cheap source of those.

How long do these cans last on a continuous burn? or how much water could boil before the cans run out?

I have a couple of colemans screw top stoves, but the cans are expensive. Might switch.

Recce'd local woodland and found a water capture/filtration site where rain fall gets piped to a reservoir. No indication the site is visited regularly by the water company or others. Fallen trees on the approach. 2km from any roads and habitation. Potential BOL I think.

ive had a good days prepping today , picked up my petron S1 takedown recurve bow and 8 bolts,
replaced the food in my BOB
got a large maglite torch with 10x D sized batteries
a survival foil blanket
and should hopefully have my restored Kukri back tomorrow, just need to have a sheath made for it.

happy days

Has a torch(very bright) alarm, mobile phone charging, red alert light and last night it cooked my tea....well maybe not but for £20 Im very happy.

Sheepster, I really like the look of that radio, thanks for the link.

After reading quite a bit of http://www.theplacewithnoname.com, a prepper website based on the guy's evacuation hours ahead of Katrina, I reorganised my BOB - to take account of getting out quickly in the event of a house fire. I'd always thought I was kind of prepped for that, but not really ...

Took delivery of a catapult! Busy day yesterday, so its not out of the wrapping yet.

I've been making do with a freebie little flash drive, thats only about 500Mb, for essential documents. As part of the fire safety thing, I decided to buy one that can take all my documents and all my photos - and what do you know, it cost a tenner! Wish I'd done it before!

Seeing as I have been in a SHTF situation thanks to a company I have been working for not paying for a few months, it has been hard to do new things and I have been steadily eating through my stock of food which is running rather low. However, I have had it and I am glad for it. Today I am starting with a new agency and hope that the pay will progress in a greater level of regularity.

I had been rather slacking at slingshot practice and am getting back into it and am glad that I haven't lost that much accuracy in the process of being "away" from it for some time.

My next big "prep" is to prepare for my online girlfriend from North Carolina who is coming to stay for a week in April. From what I know of her so far, building a relationship with her will be one of the best decisions of my entire life. She seems to have a good work ethic and can prepare game, knows about healing with herbs and understands the basics of survival skills.

Two people can survive together better than one alone, and with my parents getting older I certainly can't rely on them like I did when I was a child. And its also time to start thinking like a father and to get myself mentally prepared to think about a family too. This will require work and growth, but I'm ready for it. I have worked hard to start to build up a good reputation in my local community and I am doing whats needed to build my credit rating too.
