Southern Newbie

Post by barginhunter »

Hi
Started prepping at end of last year not got a lot of funds so always on lookout for bargins and freebies hence the name.
Biggest concern is solar storm wipping out anything electrical perminently(new tv show revolution good maybe a bit too american for some)
resulting in total breakdown in days (back in time 100 years to a new mechanical age)meaning i would have to get into the countryside to survive.
Need new skills for this hunting, treking, bushcraft courses which i have looked into and they are quite pricey so hoping to learn from the people on here and later maybe meet up with on private land to set snares hunt and shoot etc. Also forage, skin and cook as there is only so much you can learn from a book or dvd
Will finish with a tip(probably on here somewhere) and a bargin.

TIP= Make sure you have money in your kit a mixture of notes and coins as in todays card society many people dont carry cash and the cashpoints wont work. Plus small items of value to trade if money becomes worthless.

BARGIN= Today 26/03/13 Folding pruning saw (7.5 inch blade) £1 in poundland similar on ebay £7+

Bye for now.

Hello there and welcome to the forum.
Hope you find lots to interest you.

Looking for bargains is always good ...Free...Half price or BOGOF are some of my favourite expressions.
I spend a lot of time looking at clearances etc with the idea of adapting cheap items to new uses to support the items I already have.
No good having the most expensive item in the shop, if you cannot get spares and/or fuel...and when it no longer works for its original use, its no good for anything else.

Thanks for the bargin. I bought it yesterday to test the durability but it was an epic fail (I broke it... woops) But I also bought one from Asda for £3.50 and its quite good much sturdier and a bit quicker :D

I'll be on the look out for more of your bargin huntsman skills though.

Planning to prepare is not preparing. If you've got money in abundance help others without it. If you don't have money READ! information can be more helpful than money in many instances and share what you learn.
