Hello!
Looking for a good water bottle with coking cup. Something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gerber-Grylls-C ... pd_cp_sg_0
But is there one with the bottle is made from metal? (So You can place it next to the fire to boil water in it). Anyone know one like that? Thx.

problem with the old metal army bottles was that they split really easily. the army issue plastic bottles and metal cup are very good though. otherwise the Sigg metal bottles are quite strong..

The trouble with a plastic bottle is, yes you can boil water in the metal cup but you've still just touched the untreated water running down the side of the bottle from where you filled it up.
I think if you want both to be metal you're better off buying a cheap modern stainless water bottle and stainless cup separately, but taking note of the measurements to ensure the bottle can be stored neatly inside the cup.

The problem with admitting there's a problem is having to wipe the sand off your face and do something about it.

As mentioned the old army aluminium water bottles, pre 58 patt I think, split easily, the mugs were good & I have one in my BOB.
I'm not sure how a sigg or similar bottle would deal with that much heat, I have a few here and I think they're lined with something plastic / rubbery which heat may damage. Though they're pretty tough, particularly the siggs.

Hi!
Thx for the answers. I doubt that thoose stainless steal bottles are fire resistant (asked it on amazon, waiting for an answer). + Can`t find matching sizes (bottle and cooking cup). So will have to settle for a plastic bottle with metal cup.

Here you go:
Cups are available to fit the bottle.

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Useful vid, thanks, I didn't know they made stainless nalgene bottles! Shame they don't realize that that's one reason people go for them and give it a heat resistant lid and pickup.
