They look handy for space saving but another idea for a shower if space saving isn't an issue as such, I was pondering over when I decided some time in the future to convert my vehicle into a micro camper and for a shower I thought of making one from a large garden sprayer adapted with a shower head and also spraying it mat black for warming water on hot days I also think it might work for pressurised water for the sink.

Pretty much like this guy has done.

That's a brill idea due to self contained pressure allowing it to be used in almost any orientation. Thanks for sharing that, i'm off to get me a garden sprayer.

I would probably want to heat the water separately and then put it through a watering can rose or similar. We haven't got reliable sunlight here. In the Med its different, but a solar shower in April 2013? Makes me shudder.

You might be able to enclose it in a jacket of clear plastic to greenhouse it somehow though....

Used one for many months out in Iraq, certainly worked well out there (plently of sun) and had to add cold water before use. Most of us modified ours by shortening the outlet pipe so you don't have to raise it so high to get your head under it (you need a beam/bar or branch at least 3ft above your head height)

I bought one very similar to this a couple of years ago and thought they would be a great idea however, having taken it to a few places in Scotland and North Yorkshire I have to say it hasn't given me a hot shower once. Luke warm.... well maybe near luke warm but I don't think that in this climate I'd be getting anything more than that. I did try and top it up with a bit of water from the kelly kettle but gave myself a wee burn when trying so won't be going down that road again :-(

It's a great idea but IMHO it was a waste of money so if anyone does go for it then I recommend keeping your expectations low and you won't be disappointed

Ive got a solar shower. Not overly impressed. The weight of the water can tear theyr plastic easy. Long term will not last. A 5 gallon bucket with small holes would be more durable. And boil water! To put in it.

Sorry about that, I forgot that different people have different standards.

Sincere apologies.

I don't mind so much (not what I was expecting to see) but some people might be using work or shared machines

My second comment stands though, Does the seller really have so little faith in the product that they have to use a barely related (pun intended) picture to sell it ??

Has anyone here used one as a shower-bag and just filled it with pre-heated water ?
