Taken from Guidance on Application of Date Labels on Food. (Defra.gov)

"Best before’ will be appropriate for the vast majority of foods and indicates the period for which a food can reasonably be expected to retain its optimal condition (e.g. it will not be stale) and so relates to the quality of the food."

So it's up to you really.

Hi,
Ordered some today, I will let you know what it is like. I have to say the German tinned cheese is very nice, even better when you add some to Tesco value cheese macaroni.

See...

As already stated, it's the long term convenience. I would be glad of it if nothing else were available. Nothing boosts morale like a nice bit of cake! :D

Tinned marg is currently OOS

I bought some tinned cheese last year and recently got around to trying it (only got a couple of cans)...Its surprisingly good, not a mature cheddar but still up to satisfying the cheese cravings. Its Austrian and branded "Happy Cow", probably aimed at the export market going by the other texts used on the label. Looking for another source as the shop I got it in doesn't stock it any more

ETA. It seems I was about a year out..... It was mid 2011 I got it

surprise surprise , it seems my order is still in the process stage . :x
why accept an order and let you go through the process of paying for it and not tell you that its out of stock that and the fact that it may become available later ,tells me they don`t know if or when the next delivery will be , maybe next time its on the price would have gone up .

Food is allocated upon order with Approved Food - so in theory if you have put something in your basket and then checked out, it should be reserved for you. :) It continually stock checks as people put things in their basket - if they then don't check out the item is back in stock. So hopefully you should still get your order Unsure!
