used these things in the military for years. in Afghan and Iraq you scald yourself but in the UK they just dont cut it except on the hottest of summer days. if you are going to preheat the water you are as well just putting hot water in a watering can., they do pack up quite small though. they generally will comfortably hold 5 - 10 litres but after that finding something to hang them at that weight is harder.

if you do get one, cut the hose shorter (then you dont need to lift it as high)
keep the plastic in the handle (or the handle snaps easily)
and replace the string with some decent rope. (easier to carry and secure for hanging it up)
Give a man fire and he will be warm for a day..
Set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life..
