can i ask a stupid question about the mountain horse stuff

when it says 200 servings or what ever , when you open the can is it packed individually or is it just like a big tin of dried stuff

is it dry or wet ?

i know its expensive but what do you do with the other 198 portions if you dont fancy that for tomorrows dinner

and why is it double posting again

Mountain House food is freeze dried, and when it says 200 servings, it's a big tin of stuff. They do individual servings too.

Put the plastic lid supplied on

I re bag mine for future use, the shelf life isn't as long once opened but long enough for my use.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

If it is marketed as a whole meal (like chilli con carne or something) then it is a whole meal, already cooked and freeze dried, rather than the individual ingredients. I suppose there might be some settling of the larger pieces to the bottom of a can if it has been rattled around alot, so a good shake before opening wouldn't hurt. Once opened the contents will immediately begin absorbing oxygen and moisture from the atmosphere so it'll reduce the shelf life dramatically, so the larger cans are good for big groups, but if you are on your own you might quickly get bored of eating the same stuff day-after-day.
