Well I am a Kindle guy, but the Nook looks very very good, the specs are great for the price

and you forgot to mention 6 months free wifi from john lewis, if I did not have two kindles and a kindle app on my comp, tablet and phone I would snap one up :D , but my mums a avid reader but did not want a eReader, might get her this anyhow for that price.

Does this read pdf files? I can't see info on that in the specs and I already have quite a library already of mostly pdf's.

Supported file formats include EPUB (DRM and non-DRM), PDF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, and BMP.[5] Images may be used as screensaver replacements and can appear as part of an ebook.[4] The nook does not support txt or rtf.[4] from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nook_Simple_Touch

Sorry forgot free wifi and been at work so couldn't answer questions, for me the time between re-charges and the ability to expand the memory to a library size 32gb got to be worth it even if it stays stashed away.
