Hi all,
Well on the school run today I stopped by the local Bakery (God are we so lucky to still have one).
So to make a potentially very long story short. I was going to start making up some hardtack for our prep. The plan was to make hardtack like I always do and then vacuum seal it and stock it away. The problem I have is that in reality with a normal household oven you are talking about a huge amount of work and time doing enough to make a dent in the prep goals.
So like a cheeky "yank" that I am I wondered if I could entice my local bakery to make some for me. I know that I am going to have to pay whatever he decides to charge me, yet in reality to provide for a prep plan you are talking about quite a bit.
So the reason I am on here wasting your time is that if he decides to do so and all. Would anyone on here like the contact info for the bakery?
If the price is right then this could be a boon to anyone's prep. Even better it might just keep a local bakery in business a bit longer.
Thanks
Rob

If he goes mail order he could have a nice little earner.

I'd definitely be interested in this if he decided to post out the hardtack.
As Ham said, he might have a nice little income stream.

I will work on him and see if he would be interested in doing so.
He could really do well by vacuum sealing up batches and sending out by mail to customers.
I'll keep everyone posted.
Thanks

thanks hamradioop :-
At the time of the Spanish Armada in 1588, the daily allowance on board a Royal Navy ship was 1 lb of biscuit plus 1 gallon of beer !!
I don't think i could do both !!!!

When my baker gets back to me I'll update here.
I am hoping that this comes through at a price that is cheap enough to buy for prepping.
If not I will be going back to plan A. Buying bulk flour and spending whole days baking up my own.
Thanks
