What Preps are you doing this week
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Managed to get to the car boot sale - bought some airlocks and another little piece of kit for homebrew. A walking stick. A plugging chisel (for chipping off mortar, tho it may also double as a dibber
). Everything was £1, except the airlocks, which were £1 for 4.

went to the lakes yesterday to drive some green lanes . that was the cover to scout the less used area`s up in the hills . the ones you can only get to by 4x4 or on foot .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .

I have moved! *cue choir of heavenly angels*
Good lord it's been hideous! Couldn't fit it all in the transit van on Sunday so had to get the train back to London yesterday (left the house at 5.15am and walked the 3 miles to the station because there's no buses round here that early on a BH Monday) and hire a transporter minicab to get the rest back. Two hours in a minicab with an alarmingly over-talkative driver who told me all about his job history, mortgages and politics, often drove with no hands and took calls on his non hands-free mobile *shudder*
Major downside of prepping? Having a lot of stuff! The words 'how the hell did you fit all that in one room?' has come out of my aunt and uncle's mouth quite a lot. And now I have to squirrel it all away into a wee bungalow. At least there's more than one room now
So that's number one in my list of major preps crossed off: move out of London. Rather pleased about that

Thank you! I need a break - every single muscle hurts from carrying umpteen boxes and bags down two flights of stairs!Moony wrote:Congratulations !

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Congratulations Le Mouse ! It must be good to be able to look forward to putting your feet up for a bit.
On my side of things, its been more lower key. Finally purchased a magnifying glass and have made more jute and wax firelighters. This summer will have some fire based fun to it

A friend with a Mackro account took me along with her yesterday - knowing the trip had been coming I'd saved up and made quite a long list!! Big quantities of basics (now need to get into Mylar - ing!) and some good extras - such as large catering tins of fruit, coffee and even found some tinned goose fat! Oh and 66 toilet rolls for £14.50
